Securing a National Highways framework to carry out vital renewals on England’s motorways and A roads
The SDF is a National Highways framework for delivering construction works that maintain, repair, and renew the Strategic Road Network (SRN) across England. It consists of specialist disciplines collaborating to implement network improvement and renewal schemes in each region.
This bid was of strategic importance to our client, and we were engaged at the selection questionnaire (SQ) stage to support the completion of the SQ while familiarising ourselves with the business. We assisted the client with SQ submissions for both the temporary traffic management (TTM) and landscaping and ecology lots, which were emerging service areas for their business.
Working alongside our senior leadership and internal bid teams, we integrated into the team quickly and seamlessly, adopting our culture and forging effective working relationships across all levels of the business. This was particularly challenging due to the stringent COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time, requiring the entire project to be completed via remote working.
Progressing to the tender stage with the highest-scoring SQ, we led the program, storyboarding answer plans, writing responses, and reviewing content to create two winning bids.
We were commended by the client for the best practice bid expertise provided throughout the process and for our knowledge of the construction environment, which they described as invaluable and integral to their overall success with the opportunity.
